January 2006
By Norma Jean Ream
The year ahead
holds mixture of opportunities and crises. The dynamic interaction of
three slow-moving bodies will pulse with periodic regularity of weeks,
highlighting first one side of the combination and then another,
followed by another side. Thus, over the coming months we will
experience structural tensions in the themes of relationships, finances,
and general security.
At the
government level of activity, the issue will be the proper use of power.
The number one topic is the increasing encroachment of government on
individual rights and freedom of speech. The illusion the Bush
administration paints speaks to the older generation’s fears of
invasion, and of the foreign enemy who has become neighbor (essentially
racism). This is how we come to have the Patriot Act. People are
becoming complacent about being searched, detained, questioned, and now
wiretapped. Be aware of what is going on in the name of “security”. If
Americans are “sheepeople”, we will move right into martial law
with full compliance by 2008. One key element of 2006 is the expansion
of secret activities, such as spying and surveillance of “questionable
citizens”, who might simply be parents who don’t want their high school
students recruited to the military.
Oil and fuel
prices are another complete issue. First, the war in Iraq has created a
two-fold angle on fuel. Control of Iraqi oil fields gives the USA the
power to influence the world market place. Then, the gulf production
levels are still reduced with the recovery process of repairs on
hurricane-damaged rigs. The US oil companies will continue to rake in
huge profits. Retail gas prices are likely to spike at the end of
January, in mid-March, and late September. In these periods, the
financial marketplace will also be risky and unstable. Some might see
opportunities here. Henry Weingarten, New York stock analyst and
financial astrologer is predicting a “fire sale on America” late in
2006. It is definitely the time to clean up debt, tighten budgets, and
prepare for tough times. Weingarten suggests that we could see the worst
financial disaster since 1989.
The month of
March holds many astrological shifts. There are two eclipses, which are
always potent energy. The Lunar eclipse on March 14 has some other
strong configurations that make this a time to watch. It is followed by
the Solar eclipse on March 29. Consider them steps that compliment a
process, which will pulse to a crescendo by the Solar eclipse. The
nature of these events is revolutionary, rebellious, and unstable in a
volatile way.
Leadership is a
real dilemma this year. It is time for more of the secrets to come to
the surface. The more we learn the less we really want to know the whole
story. Several important planets are affecting our President now and
through 2006. He will be held accountable for his decisions and actions.
Mr. Bush’s home life may also be a turbulent field of action, but for
sure, his career is under consideration. He is probably spending a lot
of his personal resources in trying to maintain is standing as
President. Yet, things are going to be very hot by is birthday in July
and worse by the end of August. There will be more to say about that
through the year.
The storm season
next summer is likely to be very deadly. The Winter solstice chart
applied to the earth map has lines that hit the Gulf side of Florida,
New Orleans, and Houston. August 31 has a clash of two planets that give
weather disturbances, like hurricanes, tornados, heavy rains, and
flooding. Hawaii is free of any lines, which suggests no landfall of
hurricanes. Yet, with so much terrestrial tension from astrological
configurations, earthquakes are still a possibility for the Big Island.
Ingenuity and
creative planning are necessary tools for this coming year. Thinking
outside the box is going to mean staying alert to changes. Expect the
unexpected and don’t leave all the decisions to the politicians. We can
make a difference in a more mature approach than the demonstrations of
the late 1960’s. It seems that similar times are likely and we will need
to hold on to our rights with determination.
