March 2005

By Norma Jean Ream

Winter is ending and March is the month of fertility and the preparation for new projects. The New Moon on March 9/10 has an emphasis on the water element. Water represents connectivity, emotion, sensitivity, and blending. Add in a grouping of points that represent love and relationships, and we have a mixture that could go a long way in romance and intimacy. There may be a celebrity marriage, or relationship that takes the public’s attention at this time.

In business level relationships however, it might be best to listen to your internal guidance. That means listen to your “gut” feelings. Things can appear better than they are. You might find down the road that you were mesmerized by the glamour of what seemed to be, but the result turned out to be more true to your first reaction. Intuition can be useful in these next few months. What can be romantic in personal relationships can also blind you to important details in the process of making agreements and business contracts. It may be harder to stay critical and attentive when the atmosphere is so congenial.

By mid-March, we might feel like life is a tug-of-war. It can be frustrating, with the desire to move life in one direction, while responsibility and limited resources press from the other direction. Mercury, planet of contracts, commerce, thinking, and speaking, will turn retrograde on March 20, just before the Sun enters Aries. It faces off with Jupiter, suggesting that we do not get too inflated with our plans before we really investigate the hidden factors, or at least those less visible. The best use of this period is research and review.

Venus, the planet of money, love, and beauty is traveling in the Sun’s path all month. This highlights issues of banking, increases the value of some things, and lends an influence toward indulgence and frivolous spending, for Venus allows “too much” in giving the Sun (individual) what is desired. We tend to have less control over pushing to get what we want.

At the Full Moon on March 25, relationships could be the prominent theme that can be applied to many levels of life. The polarity of Aries and Libra is the struggle between independence and partnership. The tension can be passionate or clashing. This could be a dangerous and explosive time. Fortunately, the most stressful influences are faster moving and this doesn’t last long. Yet, the fixed stars add some war-like themes to important points that could make international relationships explosive. It is not likely that we have our troops coming home this year. The Equinox chart is used as a tool to represent the year ahead relating to government and national issues. Based on this, the USA is facing some difficult diplomatic relationships. The eclipses in April will tell more of this story. The best days this month for agreements, reconciliations, and buy-sell deals are the 10th, 13th, 14th, 19th, and the 24th. Remember to listen to your internal guide in these matters.
