November 2004
By Norma Jean Ream
The period most relevant to this issue of Puna News became active with
the 2 October eclipses. The Lunar eclipse was October 27. This influence
goes to the general standard of values our community holds around
expectations of future growth compared with what we need to sustain our
local comforts. The best we can do in this season is to take account of
our blessings and look for ways to collaborate among ourselves to guide
the rapid growth we are experiencing in Puna.
The New Moon on November 12, from the local view, continues to suggest
that new ideas are brewing that can bring improvements for the local
economy. However, if we as local citizens fail go to the meetings and
get involved, there could be development that is not harmonious with our
local needs. One area of concern should be military contracts. While
this will give a boost to certain areas of employment, the impact to the
environment, traffic, and development is best guided by local concerns.
Social and economic enhancements are the positives that can come from
greater citizen input.
Venus, the planet of values, money, love, and peacemaking will travel
through its own sign of Libra from October 28 to November 22. This
energy picks up some the good influences from last summer when Venus
made contact with the Sun. Relationships will be an important theme,
during the first two weeks of November. This period holds harmony,
optimism, and diplomacy that benefit everyone. Teamwork and
collaboration are the theme to strive for this month in all of our
interactions with others. This is a good period to set plans for the
coming year. Changes that were stimulated by the eclipses will begin to
manifest at the end of January and early February. Consider this a
gestation period and use it wisely for preliminary steps to larger
plans.
Action and motivation are generated by the planet Mars. It moves into
its own sign of Scorpio on November 12, with the Sun and Moon coming
under its influence. This type of scenario represents a certain “cutting
through things”. It can also be relative to quick and sudden decisions,
and sometimes endings. The Full Moon on November 26 has Mars and Venus
together in the place of relationships, illustrating the importance of
finding ways to get along with each other that run the spectrum of
personal-intimate relations to general social interactions. Venus is
offering compromise and sincere caring that can help to give love and
generosity of heart an opportunity to improve agreements at all levels.
We must keep in mind that the season of fall is a time of turning inward
and preparing for winter’s more dormant phase. This is a season of
taking stock of this year’s gain and a time of dissemination and
sharing. Symbolically, our Thanksgiving holiday is representative of
this idea. This Thanksgiving the Moon will be in Venus’ sign of Taurus,
where it is strong and fruitful. Venus and Mars will be in Scorpio in
opposition to the Moon. This picture represents another view of the
theme of relationships. There may be tensions, but there is also the
potential for objectivity and resolution. It is a time to remember what
a blessing it is to have love in our lives. Giving and receiving is a
two-sided lesson from Venus. This time of its passage in Scorpio brings
our attention to this two way street of relating. We must be as open to
receiving as we are to giving. In this way, we share the lesson with
others.
The relationship theme extends on through into 2005 with Jupiter
remaining in Libra, the relationship sign ruled by Venus. Jupiter is the
influence of philosophy, enthusiasm, and adventurism. Libra is an action
oriented air sign that loves discussion, debate, and weighing out ideas.
There is likely to be many social activities this season. Take the
opportunity to connect with friends and family. Be active in the
community. Remember that nobody can be YOU, so do your best at it and
join in the fun. Be social. |
