October 2005

By Norma Jean Ream

September was such a traumatic month and there is little hope of idle time in October. The intensity of events will be surprising. We begin the new lunar month with a Solar Eclipse on October 3. Eclipses are historically linked with disasters and dramatic political events. We will expect nothing less this month. The axis of signs is Aries and Libra, signs associated with war and peace, or with the individual versus partnership. This axis strives for balance, which is hard to achieve when the energies are also those that arise suddenly and end abruptly. This eclipse path falls across Africa, starting low about mid-continent and crossing diagonally up and across Spain. Watch this territory of the world for dramatic events, natural and man-made.

Mars, the red planet can be view after 10 PM and until dawn. It is the planet of action, and courage, as well as force, anger, and war. It will make its station and turn backward on October 1. Mars is moving through the sign of stability, stubborn determination, and possessions. It is going to backtrack through the territory it has been covering since early August, which will bring some of those issues back up for review, or continued social processing.

To refresh your memory of a continuing story from August, Cindy Sheehan was taking America’s attention to the real questions about why our sons, husbands, and fathers are dying in a war that was established on lies. Cindy Sheehan is the mother archetype asking these questions. Her pain finds easy empathy. Cindy is one collective voice finding courage to define the boundaries of how far we let this administration move our country toward martial law.

Strong themes arise through the month, resonating as bamboo chimes in strong wind. There is a chain reaction happening that will dramatize the growing weakness of the government leadership, the obvious failing of the government to provide true security and well-being for the people, and political unrest surfacing as the waves of collective recognition of evil deeds dawns on the public. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse will fill out the drama. All four fixed signs are occupied with planets locked in a dynamic cross of action. That means that there is a lot of tension and in the mix there is a demand for truth, for exposure of secrets. Legal matters and international affairs become intertwined. Debates, inquiries, and investigations begin to define the links in the chain of command and of responsibility.

In the meantime, on the personal level, perhaps you feel like your own life is moving through very challenging times. (It is.) One of the dominant energies this month is the self versus others dynamic. Recognize that we are not doing our existence alone, and get it that we are looking into the eyes of the other and they are us. Change must start at the personal place of awareness in this dynamic. Collaboration and cooperation are the ways in which we can participate in making life more happy and meaningful together.
