March,

The seasonal changes in Hawaii may be more distinct this year. Like the
very tail-end of winter that is often changeable and unpredictable, the
trends in current time politics and economics are anyone’s guess as to
what is developing and how it will affect the next several months. There
is a positive turn in prosperity that will boost the much needed morale
of the working class of America. Yet, we will see this month that late
winter can still bring some surprises.
The Spring Equinox is on March 19. There is a New Moon at around Noon
the next day. Each of these events brings its own inferences of the
influences, but in different time frames. The Equinox brings attention
to creative energies; children, investments, and entertainment. The
Equinox initiates the energies of spring and the fertile themes for the
year. In Puna, there is growth coming from visionary investments with a
focus on the future and our children. The lunar phase at the Sun’s
entrance to Aries is the very dark of the Moon, representing the
preparation of planting new seed. The Moon is in the very fertile and
blending sign, Pisces. Both Sun and Moon are in the place representing
creativity. There is an integration process happening in this season
that will assimilate many community factors. The growth may seem slow
initially, but with nurturance and group involvement, Puna is
transforming.
The New Moon initiates the lunar month and the time of new beginnings or
the monthly thrust of new growth. Energetically, the impulse is to move
ahead on projects that benefit the community. With this time of growth,
there is a mutual philosophical component that unites and bonds
diverging interests. Communications are favored with the current burst
of new ideas moving right into action. Where the last sluggishness of
winter has held back projects, the release of these energies will
stimulate a ripple of inspiration that brings of a wave of new prospects
into the community, stage by stage.
As with any process of growth, there are stages of review and
adjustment. We will see a bit of this during the spring. Mercury, planet
of thinking, planning, communication, and agreements or disputes, will
be doing its regular reversal dance through April. Knowing this gives a
notice that many things set into motion in the second half of March will
need to flex as we move through a phase of review and reevaluation.
Looking a bit further ahead, Venus will also reverse in mid-May until
the end of June. That means that finances and love affairs are subject
to reversals as well. This process is usually good in the end. Patience
and the willingness to clarify agreements and commitments will take us
through this phase with grace. We are usually in a better place once the
review is finished. Essentially we have really gotten something well
incorporated that benefits our next steps. In closing, let us hold open
the prospects of these spring months and be willing to communicate in a
way which supports sharing in the development of our growing community.
