The Pisces season this year is remarkably busy and full of changes that may leave some people quite confused and struggling for footing. This is the closing phase of Saturn preparing to finish the transit through Pisces, which always is a strange time for society when structures are weakened, and players tend to play dirty at their power games. In addition, Neptune is also slowly ending its sojourn of the last 14 years in Pisces, adding themes of extremes in lifestyles and growing media options for people to express themselves socially with the wider world through videos. In one sense, the boundaries are disappearing, and we are more vulnerable to deceptions. We want to believe in the better side of people and events which can challenge our trust and confidence.
These slow planets influence our world in ways that also promote change and recognition of the rapid developments that inform our business and social relationships, and how we each respond to the greater collective desires, and ideals. This is especially emphasized in early March. The New Moon at 9 degrees Pisces was on February 27, featured Mercury contained between Saturn and Neptune. In terms of business and commerce, Mercury is not in a strong negotiation position, but full of confusion and unclear and ambiguous information.
Venus was at 10 degrees Aries at the New Moon, which is the point where Venus will station Retrograde on March 1. This is Venus at it is highest and brightest Evening Star status. In the sign Aries, Venus expresses more Mars-like energy of focusing on personal desires and satisfying individual intentions and achievements. The retrograde occurs every 19 months and is the time of revisiting the efforts and process of the prior period. We can reconnect with those we have not seen for a long time. This is a good period for personal reflection and journaling.
Mercury conjuncts with Neptune just before it enters Aries on March 2, and stations retrograde on March 14 at 9 degrees Aries. Mercury will follow a similar path as Venus, who will more slowly move back to Pisces on March 29, and goes direct on April 7 at 26 Pisces. Venus stations direct April 13 at 24 Pisces. Both spend the first two weeks of April very closely conjunct Saturn slowly traveling the last degrees of the Zodiac through May.
Neptune shifts to 0 Aries on March 30, leaving Saturn behind. Neptune has a 164-year cycle to travel the Zodiac. The last time Neptune shifted from end of Pisces to Aries was two days after the first shot was fired on April 12 1861 that started the American Civil War, at Fort Moultrie, SC. This is not to suggest that current time will mirror history. A slow planet like Neptune represents collective social changes are coming. Neptune can be a sense of disillusionment that has been building in humanity and that can transform to a new state of awareness, drive, courage and promote a new level of consciousness and creative urges. This Spring 2025 will be initiating a collective awakening to greater potential, as the inner planets share this transition with the slow planets that design structure and collective hopes and dreams.
The Full Moon on March 13 is a Total Lunar Eclipse at 23 Virgo/Pisces, with the Moon in Virgo, sign of rational analysis and integration. The Sun will conjunct Saturn for the last time in Pisces and conjoin with Neptune on March 19 and then enters Aries at 11 pm in Hawaii. Sun is sextile Uranus and Moon is trine to it, lending a focus on issues on security, technology, and innovative programs.
Venus and Mercury together in early Aries are like sparks of ingenuity and creativity. They are representing a serious review of the factors that are desirable to change while considering information revealed from the past that informs the ideas of the future. Progress comes through reworking what we already know to make it better. Uranus is the energy of brilliant ideas, and problem-solving by invention. The Fire sign of Aries is about new beginnings and illumination bringing light onto the path of future goals.
Over the two weeks to the next New Moon, Mercury has its conjunction with the Sun on the 24th and Venus returns to Pisces and makes another conjunction with Neptune on the 27th. The New Moon is a Partial Solar Eclipse at 9 Aries. Mercury slides back into Pisces and conjunct to Neptune as it shifts to 0 Aries. This period feels very unstable and energized. This is the time of year in when storms can be very unpredictable between the extremes of cold and wet. Flooding is common for a Pisces Eclipse.
April will have similar energy in the first half of the month as Mercury and Venus complete retrograde periods. Once this is past, we can look forward to rapid changes over the course of the summer months. It can seem like a slog until Saturn finally makes the sign shift on May 26. There are two more planets to change signs: Jupiter in June, and Uranus in July.
Do not let the heaviness of March dampen your spirits. Just keep your sights on all the variety of change that is coming in a short period. Be the best creator you can be with all this alchemy of energies.
