Early September has several planets offering us added information. Aside from the political atmosphere, this time of year calls our attention to weather and our preparations for challenges from weather events and travel issues. The last weekend of August brought a stream of storms near Hawaii with the first one bringing an easy one foot of rain to Big Island. Two more storm systems follow soon.
Uranus stations Retrograde on September 1, holding its connection with the fixed Star Algol, a position that homes in on ambition and drive for success. Uranus brings revolutionizing energy to the greater story in the political drama unfolding over the next few weeks. Uranus is known as “the Awakener.” In its slow pass over the same degree from August 8 to September 25, and changing to retrograde motion on September 2, means that much of the information and the digestion and understanding of its meaning is stirring revolutionary ideas in the public. A disruption of the status quo is coming, and it could be from natural causes.
Uranus in Earth signs is also known to bring structural tension through the magnetosphere of the Earth’ crust, meaning earthquakes are possible any where on the globe. There are currently warnings for an [1] ancient, inactive volcano being awakened in Italy.[1] As residents habituating on the side of a live volcano, we are aware of its dangers, and our ameliorated ability to live with it and have a good life. Awareness is always heightened when the ground shakes.
Pluto, also retrograde, steps back into Capricorn on September 2, for a period of 80 days; 40 days retrograde and 40 days direct, then moving forward into Aquarius for the next 20 years. Pluto represents the death-rebirth, existential crisis of the American Dream of Democracy. This stage of rebirth and regeneration can offer society a new way of operating in the Global Collective.
This is Virgo season, until the Autumnal Equinox on September 22. Mercury has just finished its retrograde from 4 degrees Virgo, back to 21 degrees Leo over several days in late August as it stationed direct August 28. Mercury is the messenger, the investigator, and analyst. In the weeks ahead, reports will surface, and the public will be deciphering the news through various belief filters.
Something serious and tangible could become known over the first weekend, Sept. 7-8. The Sun opposes Saturn surfacing a tense standoff, which could reflect the first Presidential Candidate Debates scheduled for the 10th.
Saturn in Pisces is mushy and evasive, not giving much in the way of substantive information, and devolving into petty attacks from both sides and telling nothing. Voters can only sense the message underscoring the debates. More pleasant energies grow during the middle week of the month.
The benefic planets Venus and Jupiter make harmonious connections over the second weekend of September. This is an enjoyable time for joining in pleasurable social activities. The Moon adds its trine to each of the benefics as it passes through Aquarius. Finding your allies is easy this weekend. Lucky connections are made with ease.
The Lunar Eclipse on September 17 is at 25 Pisces, near Neptune, with Mercury in opposition to Saturn. Mercury in Virgo looks for details and proofs, analysis, and bottom-line conclusions. It sharpens our awareness to the idea that things are not what we thought, or what they seemed to be, or not even sound like the promises we thought we were hearing at the two Conventions. It starts to make everyone question, “who is telling the truth?” The Moon goes on into Aries on the 18th, as Mars, ruler of Aries is reaching the bending point of the Nodes, thus marking a turning point in the collective awareness of action plans, no matter who is elected.
The Sun will be in a harmonious trine to Uranus, still with Algol, the star of ‘losing one’s head,” suggesting that we should not overreact to news reaching us. We might suddenly understand another way of perception and can see practical solutions that can be part of a problem-solving process in the works.
The political drama is holding public attraction to the process of Campaigning and the Propaganda language that is used. Attach yourself carefully to your “party” of choice. There could be developments revealing stories that enlighten all of us in surprising ways. We can only trust our senses and our critical thinking.
Sun opposes Neptune, with Mercury in square aspect to Jupiter on Friday, September 20. News stories
that challenge our first responses in how we are digesting the bites of new revelations may be upsetting for many people. Neptune has a vibe of deception, intrigue, and illusion.
Neptune and Pluto are both at the end degrees of the signs they have traveled for many years and are about to move into new signs next spring. They are displaying the final grasping fingers of the old paradigm of control by fear, bold lies,
illusion, and damaging propaganda that make people fear that everything is going backwards.
Listen carefully with a questioning mind to hear the substantive portion of the political messages you hear. Did you hear about the things that are important for your happiness, like Peace, Free Speech, or economic growth? Will we be able to feed our children, and have the hope for good health care and competitive education for them?
The Autumnal Equinox is Sunday, September 22, the Sun enters Libra, ruled by Venus, Venus governs values, peace, love, and the things and qualities that make life “juoficy” and desirable. Venus has been in its own sign Libra all of September until the 24th. Just before Venus transits into Scorpio, the sign of the underworld, Venus squares Pluto in the last degrees of Capricorn, bringing out some of the control issues directed to control or manipulation of reproduction as a topic of the election. Mercury rules ideas and information, and it always stays close to the Sun, fluctuating in its cycle ahead and behind the Sun. It is coming to its period of rising before the Sun on the 29th, which is the message by directive and commanding statements. Mercury again meets the Sun, now in direct motion as they join with the South Node, suggesting losses, or reversal of fortunes. It will be important to watch what occurs on September 28-29 when Mars transits the Sun of the United States Chart. This happens every 2 years or so, but this time, Jupiter will be on the Mars of the USA chart. A signal for War. Hopefully, we will have warning signs.
